How to make a retirement or farewell song
- Install MusicTune AI on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and open it. No sign-up needed.
- On the Home screen, under For an occasion, tap Farewell.
- Under Who it’s for, enter their name. Under Occasion, say what it is: “retirement after 32 years”, “moving to Berlin”, “leaving for a new job”.
- Under Personal touch, add memories, wishes and a heartfelt message: the Monday coffee runs, the legendary spreadsheet, the garden they’re retiring to.
- Pick the song language (English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese or Arabic) and tap Generate song. You get two versions, usually in a minute or two.
A funny roast instead?
Use Simple mode and describe it in up to 300 characters, for example: “A funny, upbeat country song roasting our coworker Dave, who is retiring after 30 years of terrible puns, burnt microwave popcorn and the best spreadsheets in the office.” Pick a mood like funny or whimsical. For lyrics the whole team wrote together, use Custom mode (up to 5,000 characters) and MusicTune AI sings them as written.

- Our Terms allow personal, non-commercial use. A song from colleagues as a personal gift is fine; business use, such as company marketing or a corporate video, is not.

Is there a retirement template in the app?
The Farewell template covers retirement, moving away and leaving a job. It asks who the song is for, the occasion, a personal touch and the song language, and you get two versions.
Can it mention their name and how many years they worked?
The AI writes the lyrics from the details you enter, but it isn’t guaranteed to sing the name, and an unusual name may be pronounced differently. Read the lyrics in the app before you share the song. If you want every word exactly right, write your own lyrics in Custom mode and MusicTune AI will sing them.
Can the whole team make it together?
One person creates the song. Collect a line or a memory from each colleague for the personal touch, or write the full lyrics together and use Custom mode so every line is sung as written. Then share the link or play it at the party.
Can we make it funny?
Yes. In Simple mode, describe the song with words like “funny” or “a roast” and pick a mood such as funny or whimsical. Read both versions before the party.
Which languages can it be in?
You choose the song language in the template: English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese or Arabic. In Simple mode the song comes out in your app language (13 are available), and in Custom mode your own lyrics are sung as you wrote them.
How do we play it at the party?
Open the song’s link on any phone or laptop and play it through a speaker; the link opens a web page with a player, so nobody needs the app. MusicTune Pro members can also download the MP3.
How long does it take?
Usually a minute or two, and you get two versions. In most cases you can start listening while the song is still being made.
Is it free?
