A New Year song about your year

Make a New Year song with your family’s names, the year’s best moments and your hopes for the next one, on your iPhone, iPad or Android phone. MusicTune AI writes the lyrics, sings them and produces the music, so you can play it at midnight, send it instead of a New Year message or put it in your year-in-review video. You get two versions, usually in a minute or two.

How to make a New Year song

  1. Install MusicTune AI on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and open it. No sign-up needed. From December 26 to January 1, the New Year template is shown first on the Home screen.
  2. Check the Year. It’s filled in with the coming year; change it if the song is for another one.
  3. Under Personal touch, write the names, this year’s best moments, the resolutions and your hopes: the new baby, the move, Grandma’s 80th, the trip you finally took.
  4. Pick the song language (English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese or Arabic) and tap Generate song. You get two versions, usually in a minute or two.

From December 1 to December 25 the app shows the Christmas template instead; both are there for a holiday song with your family’s names.

Making it before December 26?

Use Simple mode and describe the song in up to 300 characters, for example: “An upbeat New Year song for the Garcia family: Lucas learned to ride a bike, Grandma turned 80, we finally saw the ocean, and we wish for a healthy year ahead.” The AI writes the lyrics and the title. Or write your own lyrics in Custom mode and choose the style, mood, voice and tempo.

Ideas for your song

  • A family song about the year, with everyone’s name and one moment each.
  • A countdown song for your New Year’s Eve party, played from your phone or a speaker at midnight.
  • A New Year message for friends and family far away, sent as a link instead of a text.
  • The soundtrack for your year-in-review photo video, as a lyric video.
  • A couple’s song about your first year together, or your twentieth.
  • Your resolutions as a funny song, to replay in December and see how it went.

How to send it

  • Share the song’s link in any chat, card or email. It opens a web page with a player, so they don’t need the app.
  • On songs with synced lyrics (most songs), make a vertical lyric video for WhatsApp, Instagram or TikTok: the 15-second chorus clip is free, the full-length video needs Pro.
  • With MusicTune Pro, download the MP3 to keep or play anywhere.

New Year song FAQ

Is there a New Year template in the app?

Yes. From December 26 to January 1 the New Year template appears first on the Home screen. It asks for the year (filled in for you) and a personal touch: hopes, resolutions and the year’s best moments. At other times, describe your song in Simple mode or write your own lyrics in Custom mode.

Can the song include our names and what happened this year?

Yes. Put the names and the moments in the personal touch and the AI works them into the lyrics. It isn’t guaranteed to sing every name exactly as you say it, so read the lyrics in the app before you share the song.

Can I make a Lunar New Year song?

Yes, in Simple mode: describe the celebration, the family and the wishes in up to 300 characters. With the app set to Chinese, the AI writes and sings the lyrics in Chinese; the New Year template’s own language choice covers English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese and Arabic.

Which languages can it be in?

You choose the song language in the template: English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese or Arabic. In Simple mode the song comes out in your app language (13 are available), and in Custom mode your own lyrics are sung as you wrote them.

Can I play it at my New Year’s Eve party or post it?

For personal use, yes: send the link, play it at the party or post it on a personal account that isn’t monetized. Our Terms don’t grant commercial rights, so no monetized YouTube or TikTok, no streaming releases, no ads and no business use.

How long does it take?

Usually a minute or two, and you get two versions. In most cases you can start listening while the song is still being made.

Is it free?

Your first creation is free and gives you two versions. After that you can watch a short ad for a free creation once every 12 hours (when an ad is available), or use MusicTune Pro or a song pack. See pricing.
