How to make a K-pop style song

  1. Install MusicTune AI on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and open it. No sign-up needed.
  2. Tap Create and stay in Simple mode.
  3. Under Describe your song, write up to 300 characters: the concept, the energy, what the hook should say. “A bright, high-energy K-pop title track about a summer crush, with a chant-along chorus, a rap break in the second verse and a big final chorus.”
  4. Pick a Style: K-pop is one of the style chips the app shows first, and All styles has J-pop, City pop and Synthpop too. Pick a Mood such as Energetic, Joyful or Romantic.
  5. Tap Create song. Two versions, usually in about a minute, with lyrics, a title and cover art.

In Simple mode the AI writes the lyrics and the title in your app language: set the app to Korean and the song is written and sung in Korean; leave it in English and the song is in English. Read the lyrics before you share; the AI decides where the rap break and the hook go.

Your own lyrics, in Korean, English or both

Switch to Custom mode and type or paste your words under Lyrics, up to 5,000 characters. MusicTune AI sings them as written, so Korean verses, an English hook and a rap break in both languages land exactly where you put them. Give the track a Title, choose the Voice (Female, Male or Auto) and the Tempo (Slow, Medium, Fast or Auto), and lay the song out section by section in the structure editor.

No lyrics yet? Write with AI (MusicTune Pro) drafts them from your notes, and you can edit every line before the song is made. If you write Korean in romanized form, spell the words the way they sound and check both versions.

K-pop, J-pop, city pop or synthpop

  • K-pop for the idol-group sound: a big hook, a dance-ready beat, room for a rap break.
  • J-pop for a brighter, anime-opening kind of energy.
  • City pop for the smooth, late-night 80s groove.
  • Synthpop for a cleaner electronic track with the same big chorus.

Styles are picked from a list of 300+ in 11 categories; there’s no box to type in a style of your own, so put the details in the description (“a soft, dreamy b-side”, “a hard, trap-flavored title track”). The Mood list has Energetic for a title track, Romantic or Melancholic for a ballad, Whimsical for something playful. Turn on Instrumental for a version with no vocals to practice a dance to or sing over yourself.

Ideas

  • A birthday song in K-pop style for a friend who lives for comebacks, with her name in the hook. The Birthday template takes the name and age but has no style choice, so use Simple mode for the K-pop sound.
  • Your own “debut”: a song with your name as the stage name and your story as the concept. See song with my name.
  • An anthem for your dance crew or your fandom group chat, with everyone’s name, written in Custom mode.
  • A K-pop style love song with your own Korean lyrics, for someone who is learning the language.
  • A city pop track for the night-drive playlist, or a J-pop opening for your own “series”.
  • A funny song in K-pop style about the friend who can’t stop buying photocards.

Good to know

  • It can’t imitate a group or an idol. There are no celebrity or sound-alike voices, and song descriptions can’t use artist names. The AI writes an original song in the style you pick, so describe the sound (the energy, the hook, the mood) instead of naming who it should sound like.
  • In Simple mode the song is written and sung in your app language; Korean and Japanese are among the 13 available. In Custom mode your own words are sung as written, in any language or mix of languages.
  • Songs made in Simple or Custom mode appear in the public Explore feed by default; only MusicTune Pro members can switch off Show in Explore when they create a song. Anyone with the link can play it.
  • There’s no BPM or song-length setting; songs come out at full length, usually 2 to 5 minutes. Tempo (slow, medium, fast or auto) is set in Custom mode.
  • Our Terms allow personal, non-commercial use: a fan edit on a personal account that isn’t monetized, a birthday, the group chat. No monetized YouTube or TikTok, no streaming releases, no business use, and Pro doesn’t add commercial rights.

How to send it

  • Share the song’s link in any chat, card or email. It opens a web page with a player, so they don’t need the app.
  • On songs with synced lyrics (most songs), make a vertical lyric video for WhatsApp, Instagram or TikTok: the 15-second chorus clip is free, the full-length video needs Pro.
  • With MusicTune Pro, download the MP3 to keep or play anywhere.

K-pop song FAQ

Can MusicTune AI make a K-pop style song on my phone?

Yes. MusicTune AI makes a K-pop style song on iPhone, iPad and Android: describe it in Simple mode (up to 300 characters) or write the lyrics yourself in Custom mode (up to 5,000 characters), pick K-pop as the style and a mood, and the AI writes, sings and produces it. Two versions, usually in about a minute, and the first creation is free.

Can it sing in Korean?

Yes. In Custom mode your own Korean lyrics are sung as written, and you can mix Korean and English lines. In Simple mode the AI writes and sings in your app language, and Korean is one of the 13 app languages, so with the app in Korean the whole song comes out in Korean.

Can it sound like my favorite group or idol?

No. There are no celebrity or sound-alike voices, and song descriptions can’t use artist or group names. The AI writes an original song in the K-pop style; describe the sound you want (the energy, the kind of hook, the mood) instead.

Can it do a rap break and a sung chorus?

In Custom mode, yes: write the rap lines and the chorus where you want them and MusicTune AI performs them as written. In Simple mode, ask for a rap break in the description and the AI decides where it goes. Read both versions before you share.

Which styles are closest to K-pop?

K-pop, J-pop, City pop and Synthpop in the Pop and Mainstream category, plus Hip Hop and Rap styles such as Trap for a harder title track. There are 300+ styles in 11 categories, picked from a list; you can’t type in a style of your own.

Can I choose a female or male voice?

In Custom mode, yes: Voice is Female, Male or Auto, and Tempo is Slow, Medium, Fast or Auto. In Simple mode the AI chooses, so say it in the description (“warm female vocals”, “a low male voice”).

Can I post a fan edit with it?

On a personal account that isn’t monetized, yes. Our Terms allow personal, non-commercial use only: no monetized YouTube or TikTok, no releases on Spotify or other streaming services, no ads and no business use. Paying for Pro doesn’t add commercial rights.

Can I get a version with no vocals, or just the vocals?

Turn on Instrumental in Simple or Custom mode for a track with no vocals. For a song made in the app you can also create stems (vocals, drums, bass, other, instrumental) and MIDI; that uses credits. See instrumental music and stems and MIDI.

How long does it take?

Usually a minute or two, and you get two versions. In most cases you can start listening while the song is still being made.

Is it free?

Your first creation is free and gives you two versions. After that you can watch a short ad for a free creation once every 12 hours (when an ad is available), or use MusicTune Pro or a song pack. See pricing.
