How to make a goodbye song
- Install MusicTune AI on your iPhone, iPad or Android device and open it. No sign-up needed.
- On the Home screen, under For an occasion, tap Farewell.
- Under Who it’s for, type their name. Under Occasion, say what’s happening: “last day at the agency after six years”, “moving to Melbourne”, “going home after the exchange year”.
- Under Personal touch, add the memories, the wishes and the message: the desk plant that outlived three managers, the Friday playlist, how much they’ll be missed, what you hope for them next.
- Pick the song language under Language (English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese or Arabic) and tap Generate song. You get two versions, usually in a minute or two.
Funny, tearful, or written by the whole team
Want it a certain way? Tap Create, stay in Simple mode and type under Describe your song, up to 300 characters: “A funny, upbeat pop song for our coworker Sam, who is leaving for a new job after five years of terrible puns, perfect spreadsheets and stealing the good chair.” Pick a Style and a Mood: Whimsical or Energetic for a laugh, Reflective or Melancholic for the tearful kind, Inspirational for the send-off. Tap Create song.
For lyrics the whole team wrote together, one line from each colleague, switch to Custom mode, paste them under Lyrics (up to 5,000 characters) and MusicTune AI sings them as written. You choose the Voice (female, male or auto) and the Tempo, and tap Create song.

Good to know
- The AI writes the lyrics from what you enter, but it isn’t guaranteed to sing the name, the city or the number of years exactly. Read the lyrics in the app before the party, or write them yourself in Custom mode.
- Songs made in Simple or Custom mode appear in the public Explore feed by default; only MusicTune Pro members can switch Show in Explore off when they create a song. Anyone with the link can play it, so leave out anything private about where they’re going.
- Our Terms allow personal, non-commercial use: a gift from colleagues or friends is fine; a company video or any business use is not, and Pro doesn’t add commercial rights.
- You need an internet connection to create and play songs. With MusicTune Pro you can download the MP3 beforehand, in case the office Wi-Fi lets you down.

Will it sing their name and where they’re going?
The AI writes the lyrics from the details you enter, but it isn’t guaranteed to sing the name, and an unusual name may be pronounced differently. Read the lyrics in the app before you share the song. If you want every word exactly right, write your own lyrics in Custom mode and MusicTune AI will sing them.
Can the whole team make it together?
One person creates the song. Collect a line or a memory from each colleague for the personal touch, or write the full lyrics together and use Custom mode so every line is sung as written. Then share the link or play it at the leaving party.
Can it be funny?
Yes. In Simple mode, describe the song with “funny” or “a roast” and the stories, and pick a mood like Whimsical. Keep it kind: anyone with the link can play it. Read both versions before the party.
Can it be sad, or more of a thank-you?
Yes. In Simple mode pick a mood like Reflective, Melancholic or Serene and a style such as classical piano, folk or soul, and say in the description what they meant to you. For the exact words, write them in Custom mode.
Is there a separate retirement song?
The Farewell template covers retirement too: put “retirement after 30 years” under “Occasion”. The retirement song page walks through it.
Which languages can it be in?
You choose the song language in the template: English, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese or Arabic. In Simple mode the song comes out in your app language (13 are available), and in Custom mode your own lyrics are sung as you wrote them.
How long does it take?
Usually a minute or two, and you get two versions. In most cases you can start listening while the song is still being made.
Is it free?
